BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY.

A meeting of the Stratford .Beautifying Society was held in Messrs James and Go's, office yesterday evening, at which a full report on the planting of trees and shrubs in •Broadway North, and afc the railway station was received. The Society is. pleased to report owing to tire efforts of spme of the Willing and enthusiastic members, that it is now in a much stronger financial position. As tliis season is too far advanced to enable the Society to further beautify the town, and surrounding streets, it was decided meantime to invest the funds recently derived from the Carnival Queen Contest, with the Stratford Loan and Deposit Co. Next season it is the Society's wish to still further beautify the outskirts of the town, and the public generally is asked to protect the work that has already been started, thus helping the Society in furthering a worthy object. .
