THE OTAKI SEAT.
Levin, November 28
Last night Mr W. H. Field, Government candidate lor Otaki, addressed a crowded meeting. He had a good hearing, but there was some interruption. In favor of the Massey programme, Mr Field said the moderate Liberal Massey Government had done well and had redeemed a number of pledges in spite of difficulties. He defended its action in connection with the strike. He was in favor of nationalisation of hospitals. He did not favor local option or the fifty-five per cent, majority for national prohibition. A vote of thanks was carried. The candidate declined, a rote of confidence. The meeting closed with cheers and cOunter-cheCrs for Mr Robertson.
