POPULATION ABSORBED IN THE NEWS FROM THE FRONT. UNIVERSAL CONFIDENCE. NATIVES EAGER TO ENLIST. (Received 8.55 a.m.) Delhi, November 27. War news continues to absorb the entire interest of all communities rn India. The whole country is engaged furthering the scheme in every way assisting to ultimate victory. Practicaliy every Englishwoman in India is working for the comfort of the troops. The daily telegrams of victories and reverses are received throughout the country with quiet, supreme confidence in the result of the struggle. Recruiting for the native army continues in an extraordinary manner. The fighting race's martial instincts are whetted by the accounts of Indians' feats at the front. In consequence of the number of applications received, the Commander-in-Chief has been obliged to forbid officers forwarding requests to proceed to the front.
