Yon der Goltz was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment for failing to register. The Australian Voluntary hospital fund has received £IOOO from the master builders, N brickmakers, and allied trades in Sydney for the purchase of a motor ambulance. LORD KITCHENER SPEAKS. MORE RECRUITS WANTED. (Received 1.35 p.m.) London, November 26. Lord Kitchener, .in the House of Lords, emphasised that the Germans had not made an advance since he last addressed the House. The arrival of Indians was of the greatest assistance. Our losses were naturally heavy, but were slight compared to the enemy’s. We are in touch with the Turkish forces thirty miles east of the Suez Canal. Thirty thousand recruits are enrolling weekly, besides regiments-being formed locally. The time is morning wljon we will require more recruits.
