A SPLENDID EXHIBITION. The annual show under the auspice: of the Egmont A. and P. AssociatioJ was opened at Hawera yesterday, a:ii despite the war there were excellent entries in all sections. A comparho. of this year's entries with the twi preceding years makes interesting reading-.—Horses entered in 1912 wcr 4133, in there were 433, and thi year the numbers total 501. The show « dairy cattle was exceptionally fine, th> beasts in the Jersey yearling heife class being an excellent lot. Fh judges stated that the fat sheep coul hardly be excelled. The pigs were fc\ in number, but the quality was good the judge declaring that better cc-ult not be seen in the .Dominion. Tin butterfat competition drew good el. tries. Mr Fulton, Government Dair. Instructor, who supervised, recom mends the dropping of the "chees cow" class, because the winners in th butter-fat competition invariably to, the list in the combined butter-fat an. casein competition.' The managemen of the show is in capable hands, an the arrangements made and their ext cation left little to be desired.
