"WASHING-UP" MEETINC.
' Per Press 'Association. Rotorua, November 26. Montaigu's creditors' meeting ended late last night. The creditors accepted an offer of two local solicitors to pay the secured ' creditor : his debt of £550 and to prove- as ordinary creditors. The bankrupt had borrowed £2OO and £3OO respectively, neither knowing he had borrowed from the other solicitor. On .discovering it, they got a third party to advance the bankrupt £sso,transferring to him the securities, which were valued at considerably over £550. 'The solicitors stated that the, chief reason for their'action was a desire to get rid or De Montaigu, owing "to the anger of the meeting.- Bankrupt's solicitor Said he believed that De. Montaigu's family would pay his debts in full. It was decided to return to Gladys Squire, formerly known as Countess De Montaigu, the furs, la,ce and ring included in Falloona's security, which she claimed as hers.
