TARANAKI LAND BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The' monthly meeting of the Tar anaki Land Board was held yesterday. Present: Mr G. H.~ Bullard, Crown Lands Commissioner (in the chair), and Messrs W. W. Jones, A. Coxhead,' and C. J. Ryan.
Applications were approved as follows:—Section 4, Block XVI., Ohura S.D., under 0.R.P.: Charles J. Po\vick." Section 6, Block XVI., Upper Waitara S.D., 570 acres; W. H. Partrltijgej at minimum annual rental, £l4 10s. '
• The Receiver of Land Revenue submitted a statement of Crown tenants in arrears with 'rental payments, consideration of which was deferred at the Board meeting at Taumarunui on 7th inst.—lt was resolved to send final notice to defaulters. * Catrina Maria Snow, lessee of F.H. LLP., Section 27, Block XV., Ngatimaru S.D., applied for an extension of time to complete the purchase of the fee simple of the land.—Granted, provided the transaction is completed not later than 31st December, 1914." it was proposed to authorise the ap•pointment of the Chief- Clerk (Mi'' W. J. Munro) to conduct auction sales on behalf of the Board, as occasion arises! in terms of sub-section d, section 67, of the Land Act, 1908. The following transfers were approved:—- • ; Wm. Bly, lessee of L.1.P., Section 32, Block XL, Ngaire 5.D.,,172 acres, to E. E. Hancock. Henry Hance, Section 21, Block XV., 'Ngatimatu S.D., 200 acres, to C. Rule and B. Albertsen. Thos. H. Jenkins, Section 31, Block XV., Ngaire S.D ; , 266 acres, selected 28th January, 1896, to Alfred A'. Wills. " Messrs Douglas and "McLean, Section 2, Block XIV., Omona JS.D., 1223 acres, to Robert B. Douglas to close the' partnership. Jno. Butler, licensee of o.r.p. Section 9, Block ! VIII:, Huiroa S.D., 460 acres, to Hugh Johnston.—Refused.
Messrs Simson Bros., licensees of Section 11, Block IV.. Clandpn Settlement (116 acres) whose holding was forfeited for non-residence by the Board on 7th inst., applied for a rehearing in terms of Section 52, of the Land Act.—Resolved to rescind the solution of forfeiture dated -7th inst., provided lessees apply to transfer thb holding outright to the' present occupier at a reasonable consideration.
