Amsterdam, November 22
Aeroplanes appeared at Friedrickshafen at midday, 400 yards above the sheds where the new Zeppelins are being constructed. Shrapnel brought down one aeroplane, and another fell into Lake Constance. Bombs damaged two houses, killed a man, and wounded a woman. The captured aviator was seriously wounded. The aeroplanes were manned by Frenchmen.
ONE WOUNDED: ONE ESCAPED. (Received 9 a.m.) Amsterdam, November 22. A British officer on the aeroplane at Friedricksafen was severely wounded in the head and hand. The other aviator did not fall into the lake, and dropped a bomb later in another place. EIGHT AEROPLANES AT CRIPS. London, November 21.' An exciting air battle was witnessed on Wednesday. Two French and two British aeroplanes manoeuvred for ten minutes against four German ships, and suddenly fled. The Germans, pursuing, realised too late that they had been trapped, and were shot down by hidden French batteries. Eight officers and the pilots were killed. THREE DARING GERMAN AIRMEN INCINERATED. (Received 9 a.m.) Paris, November 22. A British aviator attacked a German aeroplane near the French batteries at Soissons, and the German attempted to escape, hut shrapnel brought the machine down and two officers 'and a mechanic were incinerated.
