1 HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. A splendid programme was screened last night to a large audience, the feature play being “The Golden Calf,” a story of the Australian gold fields. .“A Test of Coinage” is a grand Lnhin drama of the Mexican border, a story of a treacherous fiend, his beautiful daughter and her brave sweetheart. The Australian Gazette introduces introduces many, scenes from the Commonwealth., including the Australian troops mobilising for the front, mimic battles, bayonet charges, sharpshnoting, and quick-firing guns in action. “Scenes in Ashburton” is a very pretty scenic of the beautiful southern city. The comedies include: “College Cupid,” a comedy chase and a Yitagraph screamer, “Ballroom Rivals.” . To-morrow night the third series of war pictures will he shown. “Our Japanese Allies.” tlje little brown man from the East, “Japs in War Time,” “Latest Pattern Gun,” “1,000,000 Men Ready,” “Off to the Front,” “Prominent Forts,” and many other scenes.
