Admission to both meetings will he free, hut a collection will be taken up in• aid of the British Relief Fund.
Last night the installation of officers of L.O.L/76, took place, the installing officer being Bro. H. A. Wunsch, D.G.M. The following officers were in. stalled: W.M., Bro. H. Kilpatrick; D.M., Bro. C. Roberts ; Chaplain, Bro: Rev. Reader; secretary, Bro. H. Voght; treasurer, Bro. J. Anderson; deacons, Bros. Sheriff and Fincham; tyler, Bro. L. Roberts. Visitors from Ti'maru and New Plymouth - were present, and the Stratford ladies’ lodge attended in full force. After the installation a banquet was held, at which the following toasts wore honored: “The .King,” “District Grand Lodge,” “Ladies’ Lodge,” and “The Visitors.”
The executive committee of the A. and P. Association met last night, there being present; Messrs E. Jackson (president, in the chair), W. M. Bayly, D. J. Malone, J. M. Shelter, W. H. H. Young, R Dingle and E. Kelleher. The W.C.T.U. w’ss given permission ■to erect a rest tent on the ground during the show.. The subcommittee set up to canvass for entries reported excellent response from all parts of the district. The Borough Council is to be asked to allow the Association to erect notice-boards from the Post Office to Flint Road regulating the speed of all traffic. The stationmaster is to be approached with a view to having a porter stationed at the Flint Road crossing on ! sfiow' days. Mr R. H. ICivell’s tender for the solo right to sell the official catalogue was accepted,
