AMUSEMENTS.
HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. The now change of pictures screened at Bernard’s last evening was a meritorious selection of the latest pictorial subjects. The star drama, “When Iron meets Steel,” is a strong Vita graph story. The plot is centred around a young German gun inventor. His employer forms a dastardly scheme to ruin the inventor by placing his gun upon the market. “Monkey Intelligence” is an educational film, introducing some clever trained, Japanese apes. “Pm Do Dome,” a Pathe colored scenic, shows a portion of France before the war. The latest “Gaumont Graphic” bubbles with the world’s current topics. “The Germans’ entry into Brussels” will be shown to-night for the last time. Owing to the absence of Van Heck and Sid Bernard, who, with the kind permission of Madam Bernard, proceeded to the New Plymouth citizens’ ball in aid of the Belgians, the music was in the hands of Miss Agnes Hobson, who carried out the programme in her well-known capable style. It may be stated that Madam Bernard Is in receipt of a telegram from New Plymouth thanking her on behalf of the committee of the ball for her generosity in sparing the musicians.
