AMMUNITION FOR THE WAR. United Press Association. (Received 11.35 a.m.) Melbourne, November 5 The Colonial Ammunition Compam has presented 1,000,000 rounds of ammunition to the expeditionary forces. NEWS FROM THE ISLANDS. (Received 11.35 a.m.) Sydney, November 5. The Tofua reports that affairs at Apia are quiet. The New Zealand troops are well. Previous to leaving Suva, the Cairnhill, en route from Newcastle to San Francisco with a cargo of coal, arrived at Suva and was detained. A sfearner from Bougainville, in the German Solomons ar. rived at - Rabai.il with two Engli 'llmen and several Germans aboard. The former stated that German wardships, were sighted off Kaweing, New Hanover.
