Respecting the cabled news of the death at the front of Captain Warner Russell, it is interesting to recall that whilst serving in New Zealand the lat* Sir William Russell (father of the late Captain Walter Russell) was a captain of the 58th Foot and the i4th Foot. These regiments, on the reorganisation of the British Army, some years ago, became the Northamptonshire and West Yorkshire Regiments, which two of Sir AYilliam's sons respectively joined. The son that held a commission in the West Yorkshires was killed in the South African war, and the other, who held a captain's commission m the.Northamptonshires, has now also given his life for his country.
