GOLF.
Tho members and friends of the Stratford Golf Club spent a very pleasant afternoon yesterday at the local links on the occasion of the closing of the Club's season. A large number of players were present, and numerous competitions were held. The president, Mr A. W. Budge, congratulated the Club on the very successful season l>ein v brought to a close, and expressed the hope that during the coming season the same enthusiasm for the game would be displayed. The winners of the various competitions yesterday were as follows: Flag Competition.—Mr and Mrs A. C. Lawrey. Approaching and putting.—F. Dunlop. Putting only.—F. P. TJniacke. Men's Driving.—S. Spence. Ladies' Driving.—Miss O'Brien. Ladies' Approaching and Putting.—. Miss F. Orbell. The Men's Medal Aggregate (Mr Stanford's challenge trophy) wa« won by Mr Vernon Crawshaw, and the Ladies' Medal Aggregate (Mr W. J. Crawshaw's trophy) was won by Miss O'Brien. The trophies for the closing day competitions were presented by Dr. iPagot and Messrs Abraham and Fusj'eH. Mrs Paget and Mrs Abraham kindly proved afternoon tea
