A GERMAN RAILWAY. SEIZURE BY JAPANESE FOR STRATEGIC REASONS. United Press 'Association, Pekin, October 5. Japan lias explained that the seiz* nre of the Tsingan-Weihaien railway was due to strategic reasons; also that the railway was essentially German. SUCCESS OF NAVAL OPERATIONS BY THE ALLIES, (Received 11.5 a'.m.) Tientsin, October 5. According to Thinanfu reports, during the naval bombardment of Tsing-tao, three German batteries at [Fort Bismarck were put out of action, the adjacent barracks fired, and the outer defences occupied by the Allies.
