George-moved a new clause Having for its purpose the use ot the double machine. ihe Council divided on the clause, which was defeated by 12 -to 8. lne hill was then reported with only verbal amendment. The Medical Practitioners' Bill was reported with minor amendments, read a third time, and passed. The Animals Protection, and Gaming Amendment Pills were reported without amendment, read a third time, and passed. Hon. Jones asked if the Government aould take steps to prevent the,supply of alcoholic liquor to the expeditionary forces wherever temporarily stationed.—Hon. Bell said the mattei had been given earnest consideration, b.ut it was a difficult matter, as the men were under the control of the Defence Department. The Council rose at 10.55 p.m., un til Wednesday.
