EARTHQUAKE SHOCK.

[Pkk Pkkhk Association. ! Wellington, September 30. Just after one o’clock to-day a sharp earthquake shock was felt in the city. Clocks stopped, windows rattled, cioois slammed, and buildings were InisHy shaken. The direction appeared to he from south to north. Another slighter ,shock occurred 20 minutes later, and at about 12.15 a.in. a shock was also recorded. Information lias been received by the .Marine Department from Cape Campbell lighthouse that an earthquake which occurred there to-day disarranged the apparatus, preventing the light from being shown, and in consequence no light "ill he exhibited from the station until further notice. The Department will despatch the lighthouse expert by the Hinemoa tomorrow morning to put the light in order. Due notice will be given when the light, will be. again exhibited.
