DEATH OF HON. THOS. FERGJS

Tlio Premier moved: “That this House records its high sense of t'je faithful services rendered to New Zealand by the late Horl. Thorn.. Fergus, a former member of Die House of Representatives and Minister of the Crown, and respectfully tenders to Ins widow’ and family the assurance of its sincere sympathy with them in their bereavement.”

Sir Joseph Ward seconded the resolution, and tributes were also naid by Mr G. M. Thomson, Hon. J. Allen, Hon. R. McKenzie, Hon. W. Fraser. Sir Walter Buchanan and Mr R. Scott.

Mr Massey then moved the adjournment as a'mark of respect to the memory of the late Hon, T. Fergus, and the House rose- at 7.50 until 2.30 to-morrow.
