Prince Albert is convalescent, states a London cablegram. At Harry Lauder's concert at Wanganui on Wednesday evening the eeeipts totalled £sß2—a record for a one-night entertainment in that town.
Mr G. Nightingale, of Whangauomona, has disposed of his business to Mr Cook, and left by the mail train this morning for Wellington, where he again intends entering into business.
Private advice received in Stratford last night states that Mr Phillip Snowden, M.P., who is hooked to speak here shortly, and will arrive in Auckland about the 26th inst., is very ill, and will be unable to take the platform for some days after his arrival. Mr Snowden is accompanied by his wi f e, who is recognised as one of the most brilliant speakers in Great Britain,, 99 many a* 16,000 neople having attended her recent address in Birmingham. Notice of the Snowdens' appearanca in Stratford will bo duly given.
