NEAR THE KAIO-GHAO ZONE
JAPANESE CAVALRY MAKE A CAPTURE.

Japanese cavalry captured Tsi-mo ten miles outside the Kiao-Chao zone.
The German territory at Kiao-chan Bay is leased from China for ninetynine years from 1898. It consists of a portion of land on the northern entrance to the hay apd a smaller portion on the southern entrance. The area is 200 square miles, and a neutral zone containing 2500 square miles surrounds the territory and the bay. Tsing-tao, the port and chief town, is situated at the northern entrance to the hay. Tsimo is an inland town northerly from Tsing-Tao, CAPTURE OF RAILWAY STATION ON SUNDAY. (Received 10.5 a.m.) Tokio. September 16 (evening). The Japanese captured the KiaoChao railway station on Sunday. (The town of Kiao-chao is inland from the, landward end of Kiao-chao Bay. It is not in the German leased territory.) GERMANS AND CHINA’S NEUTRALITY. Peking, September 16. The German Charge D’Affaires has notified China that his Government reserves the right to deal with China in the present and the future owing to the breach of neutrality in permitting the lauding of Japanese. Germany reserves the right to exact compensation for the loss sustained!,;
