Lasting Peace.
ALLIES WILL STAND INDISSOLUBLE COMRADES.
[Bv Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] London, September 7. The newspapers consider that when the time comes Tor settlement, the Allies’ declaration will assure lasting peace.
The Daily Telegraph says it was fully anticipated that Germany, in the course of the war, would attempt to break up the Anglo-French-Russian alliance, and adds: “In the event of Austria collapsing, as 'seems likely, in utter ruin, Germany may generously offer Russia some of AustriaHungary’s non-Germanic provinces; or, on the other hand, if the tide of battle moves decisively in her favor on the French soil, she may offer France lenient terms in order to concentrate against Britain.” The Russian declaration calls the world to witness that the Allies will stand throughout as indissoluble comrades.
