"Going to Butchery"
GERMAN FEAR OF THE ALLIED TROOPS. (Received 10.10 a-.m.) London, September 1. A correspondent at Ostend met a German officer between Ghent and Brussels, The latter was perfectly candid regarding the situation. Ho said the morale of some of the troops was nnsati factory, the men feeling that they wore only going to butchery. “Towards Paris,” he said, “We shall meet the Anglo-French troops, who are superior in training, and they will crush us.”
