TARANAKI LAND BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Taranaki Land Board was held yesterday. Present; Messrs G. H. Bullard (chairman), Coxhead, By an and Jones.

Notification was received of tho appointment of Mr W. W. Jones as a member of the Land Board in pursuance of section 41 of the Land Act, 1908.—Received. Tho chairman and members congratulated Mr Jones. Notification was also received of the election of Mr 0. J. Ryan as a member of the Board, ho having received the greatest number of valid votes at a poll taken on July 26, 1914. —Received, and Mr Ryan welcomed. ALTERATION OF SECTION BOUNDARIES. It was resolved to approve of alteration of areas of sections in Ngatimaru, Mahoc and Pouatu S.D. in connection with lands taken for railway purposes (Stratford-Te Koura line). SUB-LEASES.

Jno. Routley, lessee of L.P. section 100, block 10, Ngaere S.D. (206 acres), applied to sub-lease to Wm. Chas. Hodgson for five years from August 1, 1914. Proposed transferee was landless. —It was resolved to approve. Geo. Wenlock, lessee of sections 26, 27, 28, block 11, Ngaere S.D. (30 acres), applied to sub-let to Arthur Parkinson for three years from August 1, 1914, with a compulsory purchasing clause. All conditions had been complied with, and proposed sublessee was landless. —It was resolved to approve.

Sidney Moclcalf, lessee of part section 107, block 2, Ngaere S.D. (46 acres), applied to sublet to R. H. and F. Kemp for four years from August 1, 1914. Conditions bad been complied with, and the applica/tion was approved, Messrs H. Halliwell and Win, Robertson (trustees in Jas. 11. Young’s estate) applied to sublet E.R, Msctiou •17, block 3, Waimate S.D., to Daniel Hennessy for a term of seven years from July 1, 1914.—Resolved to approve, subject to the usual conditions. Arthur W. Wood, lessee of L.F. sections 12 and 13, block 3, Omoua S.D., applied to sub-lease to Geo, H. Steele. Area 382 a. Ir. 19p.—Approved, subject to all papers being in order. T. McCarthy, lessee of L.P. subsection 2 of section 46, block 11, Ngaere S.D., applied to sub-lease to T. J, McCarthy (son). —Approved. TRANSFERS. Transfers were dealt with as follows : Jas. McDonald, lessee of secuon 27, block 8, Ngaere S.D, (Huiuga Settlement), 192* acres, to Jas. Scott.— Approved.

Ewan Alfred Jackson, holder oL L.P. sections 26 and 28, block 4, Ngatimaru S.D., and O.R.P. sections 1 and 2, block 5, Mahoe S.D., to Juo. O’Connor, area 1031 acres.—Approved. Messrs Spence and Stanford, solicitors for Sidney G. Stockley, applied to transfer L.P. section 42, block. 6, and O.R.P. section 40, block 6, Ngrutimaru S.D., to Wm. Alex. Stewart. —Approved. Fred Jno. Crowe, licensee of O.R.P. section 3, block 7, Mahoe S.D., applied to transfer to H. H. Rawlinson, Joseph McKenny and Patrick O’Dea; area, 450 acres.—lt was re-

solved to defer consideration for fuller particulars and ranger’s report. Jno. F. Reeve and Lucy E. Reeve, lessees of L.P. section 11, block 9, Ngatimaru S.D. (276 a. 2r. Bp.) applied to transfer to Jos. Law.—Approved. Jno. F. Reeve and Lucy E. Reeve, holders of E.R. section 8, block 5, Ngatimaru S.D. (197 acres), applied to transfer to Jos. Law.—Approved. J. E. Young was granted the freehold of section 19, block 4, Omona S.D.
