Sydney, August 23.
Meetings at Sydney and Melbourne decided that the Stock Exchanges shall remain closed for an indefinite period. Recent departures included numbers of French and Belgian wool buyers, en route to join the colors. Up to Friday, 10,780 had volunteered in New South Wales for the Expeditionary Force, and 6100 were passed for service. Only the best mem were chosen.
TASMANIA.
Hobart, August 26.
Parliament meets this week to introduce a moratorium Bill and appropriate measures arising from the commission on the control and supply of foodstuff and regular prices.
