The War Fund.
THE CARDIFF EFFORT. A COMIVMTTEE APPOINTED. Another very pleasant dance was held in the Cardiff School last night in aid of the War Fund, which, owing to the absence from the district of many and the illness of "more, was not so successfully financially as the last one, though equally jolly. Patriotic songs were sung by Mr Howarth, in the choruses of which everyone joined; the Prebhle hoys again kindly supplied the dance music, and a pleasant evening was brought to a close about 1 a.m. by the singing of the National Anthem. Following on the receipt of a letter by Mr Belcher from the secretary of the Stratford War Fupd Committee, asking Cardiff people to organise with the view of raising funds for that object and also to prevent over-lapping and undue solicitation, an impromptu meeting was held during a breathing spell in the dance, when it was decided to set up a committee to formulate and carry out such a scheme and that the following gentlemen lie asked to act on the committee, with power to add to their number:—Messrs G. Marchant, W. Richards, J. T. Belcher, F. Crossley, J. Stewart, J. Rogers, A. David, R. Susans, W. Brown, D. Cameron and T. Brown.
