MEETING WAR EXPENSES. Ottawa, August 20. ]n order to meet war expenses, the Finance Minister proposes to increase the duties on coffee, sugar, spirits, cigars and tobacco. The. revenue expected therefrom is seven million dollars.
Mr Borden announces that the Duke of Connaught's term as Gov-ernor-General of Canada, has been extended until the end of the war.
