Mr S. J. Rawles, of Opunake Road, received yesterday a very line pedigree Berkshire hoar, which he obtained from the Government Experimental Farm at Weraroa. Fanners •ire more and more recognising the value of obtaining the services of pedigree stock.

She belongs to the German-Australia Steamship Company, of Hamburg. The W ismar is of 4686 tons, with 3000 horse-power. She has 2900 tons of superphosphates and approximately 200 tons of general cargo for the Bluff, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. Ihe total value of her cargo would pro--1 bably be from £20,000 to £30,000.
