SWISS IN NEW ZEALAND.

A K'ATSGNAL APPEAL. Mr G. A. Strieff, Swiss Consul in Xew Zealand, has issued the following appeal to the Swiss in Xew Zealand: Switzerland is in danger of becoming the battlefield of Europe unless we can compel the contending parties to respect our neutrality. Our bravo and well-drilled army is at the frontiers. Landwehr and Landsturm, comprising every able-bodied man from 17 to 60, and older volunteers up to 70, are in readiness to defend the defenceless. "Our ladies of all classes are working under the Geneva Cross. Let us then help as best we can. "Airships above all things are needed, being one of the means to watch the movements of the intending invaders. Let us contribute towards the purchase of a first-class airship, to be named Xew Zealand, thus very properly advertising the country in which we have found a safe and peaceful existence. "The leading newspapers of every Xew Zealand province will receive subscriptions, which can be paid in gradually, and the final result will be published by the Swiss Consulate in Auckland, whose bankers will guarantee the safe payment to the Swiss Government." M, Strieff has opened the subscription list with a donation of £'2o, which lie has deposited with the Bank of Xew South Wales at Auckland.
