On the same day at Waihi, Tikor angi, I had a very representative attendance for Mr W. Books' clearing sale. Mr Books had taken a lot °> care with his cows during the 20 years he had been dairying and many flattering remarks were heard about the quality and condition of his cows. 1 had brisk bidding for these, the line making a record average of £l4 10s Go per head. The highest price was obtained for a nice Jersey cow, £2O.
