[Per Press Association.] Christchurch, August 4. Training was conducted at Ricartor. in dull weather. Hunikaha and Madama ran five furlongs in (iOsec. Sveaborg and Sam Pan, assisted by Kimbombi, did a mile and a quarter fast, the- milo being cut out in lmin 52 2-o sees. Thrax and Tannhauser ran bail a mile in SOsecs, doing best at the end. Silver Blaze and Chrysob's cov ©red six furlongs, and got to the end o! nine furlongs in lmin 21. 1-osec. (■layer, Grey King and Morecambe were schooled over hurdles, the latter with a heavy weight doing good jumping. Player gained friends by his display, and Raupanui defeated Mummer over six furlongs in lmin 10 2- > sec. Multiply was several lengths in front of Chortle in half a mile, which was done in oOsec. Kilmen.v did seven furlongs in lmin 37sec. Try Fluke was going better than Ngatiruanui a( the end of five furlongs, the last, foil! done in "j2.'.soc. Sir Lethe, while schooling, fell at the post and rail cut his forearm, which will prevent him racing at the meeting. Crown IVari did sis furlongs, the last hall in 52£sec. Captain Jack, Peary, Silver .Monarch and Fond Memory -•hoolod. The last baulked, but the l,titers .a;ave a good display. A nuin■~a of others did useful work.
