THE FATAL BLUFF FIRE.

[Per , Press Association. ] Invercargill, July 30. The inquest on the Bluff' fire opened at the Port this afternoon, and was adjourned until Saturday morning. The remains of a man, believed to be those of T. T. Brook, who was unmounted for yesterday, were found to-day by the .police amongst the debris. The position of the remains supports the theory that deceased left his room and made his way along the upitairs corridor, and was making either for the staircase or the fire escape when overcome by smoke. He probibly fell to the floor which afterwards ■aved in, the remains ultimately becoming buried under the ruins of the ground floor.
