GREAT DISTRESS EXISTS. DEBATE IN THE LORDS. Electric Telegraph—Copyartmy [United Press Association.] (Received 9.10 a.in.) London. July 29. Lord Morley, in the House of Lords, replying to Lord Lamington, said the Government was without information as to the atrocities in Southern Albania. Great distress existed, but the reports were exaggerated. The Powers are considering the despatch of an international commission to investigate. The Government was unable to send troops. Lord Lansdowne said Britain had a certain measure of responsibility in Albania, and should co-operate with the other Powers to suppress atrocities. Lord Loreburn deplored the decadent tone of Lord Moreley’s reply, which, he said, was unworthy of Gladstone’s spirit. •
