SERIOUS MINE FIRE.

Fire is raging in Neat's Colliery, near Cessnock, on the South Maitland coalfields. 'Work at deepening the shaft was proceeding when is appears an explosion occurred. A party descended to ascertain the cause and found the fire spreading. They beat a hasty .retreat. No miners were working in the mine at the time of the outbreak, it being the fortnigh tlyholiday.
