In the House of Commons, amidst cheering and laughter, the Standing Committee passed Mr Ponsonby's Bill providing for the termination of hereditary titles. The Bill was reported to the House. THE BRITISH NAVY. London, July 24. The Finance Bill was read a third time. Mr Lloyd George thought that next year would find substantial economy in armaments without interfering in the slightest degree with the efficiency of. the navy. There were symptoms that the industrial and financial .interests of the world were beginning to get alarmed at the growing expenditure on armaments.
