HAZ ELTON'S DISPERSAL SALE, The N.Z. Loan and .Mercantile- Agency Co.. Ltd., Stratford branch, report as follows :—-

On Monday, 20th inst., we' held a very successful clearing sale on Mr Archibald Hazelton's farm, Opunake Road, Stratford, when there was a

very large attendance of the public from all parts of the district, competition being very keen for both sundries and stock. The dairy cows showed

very good judgment in selection, although some were showing age and there \vt>ft> a few 3-teaters, and the stock had also been well looked after. Competition was particularly keen for some of the better bred cattle. Heifer calf just dropped USs.padigree yearling Jersey heifer, "Florence Eileen," was secured after spirited bidding by W. Vickors, Midhirst, at 28jjns. ■ Pedi-

Hooper, Mahoe, logns; pedigree hull, "Snowstorm's Campanile," Joe Miller, Waipuku, 24 gns. The herd of cows, including 3teaters, but without pedigree cows,

averaged £l4 (ss. which appears to be a record for this class of sale, and sold at from £26 to £l3. The average per head for heifers was £ll 14s 2d.

The Xew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company. Limited, have received the following cablegram from their London house, dated 22nd July, 1014:—Wool Sales.—l3B,ooo bales of wool wore sold at the sales, of which 31.000 bales were taken for the Continent and 17,000 for America. 8000 bales were hold over. .The sales closed with goad competition. The market and quotations arc unchanged. Tallow.—We quote present spot values for the following descriptions:—Good mutton 34s 3d per ewt, good beef 32s Gd, mixed 23s Gd.
