DIVERSION IN COURT.

Caillaux's cleverness in creating a diversion and turning a criminal into a political, trial. M. Caillanx in his evidence endeavored to show that the Dresdener Bank were large shareholders in the Figaro, and that hence the paper reflected the German Foreign Office views. A gunsmith gavo evidence that Madame Caillanx tried the revolver at the shootinig gallery before purchasing it, and hit a figure target three times out of six shots. The editor of Le Journal gave evi deuce that Madame Cueydan, formerly Mrs Caillanx, offered him Caillaux's private letters, but he refused them. Madame Oiuoydau, in her evidence, admitted taking the letters from hoi husband's study for the purposes of her divorce suit. Times and Sydney Sun Services. London, July 23.
