DREADED BUBONIC PLAGUE
RAT-FREE ZONE AT PORTS.

[United Press Association.] (Received 8.40 a.m.) Melbourne, July 24. The Director of Quarantine sounds a warning note regarding the danger of a revisitation of the bubonic plague unless strong measures are taken to destroy the rapidly-increasing number of rats. He urged the need of creating a rat-free zone around all the more important ports.
