WELLINGTON’S ARBOR DAY
LFaa Pbebb Association.] Wellington, July 15. Arbor Day was observed in many parts of Wellington City and suburbs. At Newtown two and a-half acres of the Town Bolt wore laid out in treeplanting by children attending the school. The area was banded ever to them by the City Council Deserves. Committee. The mayor, mayoress, and others planted commemorative trees. Mr Davidge, of the Garden Cities Townplanning Association of Great Britain, attended, and trees were planted commemorative of himself and his wile. A holiday is being observed at tho schools and Government offices, and citizens are busily engaged in fcveeplanthig. During the past few years nearly 90,000 tiees were planted in the parks and gardens in Wellington by the City Council.
