NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY REPORT. On Friday, 3rd inst., at my Waiwakaiho yards I had u full yarding of cattle, the quality and condition of which were, however, not up to that of previous entries, consequently affecting bidding, but any pens of good cuttle sold readily. At Stratford yards on Tuesday, 7th inst.. I bad a good entry of cattle, the quality of these being a distinct improvement on recent yardings. N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY GO'S. REPORT. The N.Z."Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Startford branch, report as follows: On Monday, 6th July, we held a very successful clearing sale on account of Messrs Galloway and Curry, Rowan Road. The day was fine and the attendance very large for the district, competition being very keen from the start, there being no less than 2 1 buyers operating. There were very few sundries, but the herd of 71 cows and 8 heifers were disposed of in record time. Pigs: Slips 2s, sow 70s. The cow's made from £6 10s to £l3. The average, for the herd was £9 7s Gd. Empty cows 105 sto 70s, rising 2 year old heifers in calf £8 to £4 10s. On Thursday, 9th inst., wo held a clearing sale on account of R. W. Smith, Tuna. Notwithstanding the fact that the day was very Avet and rough, there was a fair attendenco, 15 buyers operating for the cows. The stock was in fair order, and this was a genuine herd, consequently bidding was brisk, and an average of £9 lis, including 3 teaters, was made for the herd. There were not many sundries. but what were offered were keenly competed for and realised fair values. Six year old gelding, which was keenly competed for, realised £3l. Cows (including three-teaters) made from £7 to, £l2 15s, empty cows 100 s to 60s, 9. weaner heifers 43s each, 3 at 10s each. We also offered on account of Mr Wm, Hathaway, a Holstein cow' and two Kolsteii) heifers. The cow was a fine specimen of the strain, with calf at foot, apd was very keenly competed for, falling to the bid of a Stratford leiyor.
