A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

SVSEETINC OF EXECUTIVE. The executive of the A. and P. Association met last night. Present: Messrs E. Jackson (president, m the chair), l<\ Dobson, W. H. H. Young, E. Kelleher, J. D. Healy, J. Brake, I). J. Malone. CARNIVAL QUEEN. Mr A. D. Stanley, representing the Carnival Queen Committee, waited on the Association in reference to the contest. He said that the committee would like if the candidate chosen was a country resident and not a town resident. The committee wished to have two country candidates—one nominated by the Association and one from the Whangamomona County. Letters had been sent to various country bodies asking for suggestions for nominations, but the Association could not decide on a suitable candidate and it was decided to appoint a small committee to wait on te Carnival Committee and explain the difficulties of the Association and discuss the matter generally. Messrs Jackson, Healy, Malone and Young were appointed to meet the Carnival committee. If necessary the Executive will he called together .next Tuesday night to deal with the question. THE POULTRY SECTION. Mr Jackson reported that he had had a further interview with members of the Poultry Society. The Society merely wished the Association to run a poultry section at the Show. The Society would hand over its assets and trophies; and if the Association found it did not pay, they could drop it at any time. There was no desire on the part of the Society to have the Association hold an autumn show in the Town Hall. The matter was held over till next meeting to enable the terms of the Society's offer to be ascertained. Messrs Jackson and Brake to interview members of the Society.

SECRETARY'S CANVASSING TOUR

Mr Jackson reported that he had received a telephone message from the secretary (Mr Hill) who was at Tarata. He spoke very enthusiastically _of the reception he had received so far. He had gone out to canvas for new members, and said that when he came back he hoped to have a hundred new members to propose. The people he met spoke well of the Association, and a good number had not only decided to become members, but had also decided to send exhibits. THE SCHEDULE.
