The Government Meteorologist (Rev 0. 0. Bates) telegraphed, this afternoon as I The indications are for:—Freshening to westerly winds strong to gale and veering by west to south. The weather will probably prove very boisterous. Heavy rain is to be expected with rivers rising shortly. Barometer falling, but rise after about 10 to 20 hours; then weather will probably become colder.
