The Two Sides.
SOCIALIST AND LIBERAL. A POLICY OF RESTORATION. [By Elbcteio Telegbapb—Coptbightj [United Pebbi Absooiawon.] (Received 9.40 a.m.) Sydney, June 22. Mr Cook, P.C. (Premier) opened the election campaign at Tamworth. He said the country was faced with the most serious situation since the Federation was established. On the one side, the Socialists' in stern array threatened to capture and subordinate the whole legislative machinery to their class aims and propaganda. One or two large unions had become political machines and threatened the whole basis of free government. And on the other side were the Liberals attempting to secure the Federal constitution from predatory hands and restore a free Parliament to a free people for the wise purposes of a free democracy.
