The Criminal Law Amendment Committee, at a meeting in Caxton Hall, urged the appointment of> women police for the supervision of parks, open spaces, and railway stations, to answer inquiries in the streets for the investigation of cases of assault, visiting places of 'amusement and 'refreshment, and inspecting women’s lodginghouses. It is stated that forty towns in Germany have women police, and the number is steadily growing.
