AMUSEMENTS.
BERNARD'S PICTURES. •To-night's new programme of pictures to bo screened at Bernard's Theatre is stated by the management to be one of the latest. The star drama, "Within the Enemy's Lines," is an altogether superior Edison military drama 2000 ft. in length, showing hopeless years of war between the North and the South Civil War of America. "How Moving Pictures are Made" i a a superior educational film giving one a great insight to this "come-to-stay" business. "Water Fowl at Home" and "Sponge Industry," and a host of comic pictures, headed by Keystone's scream, "Too Many Brides."
MARIONETTES TO-NIGHT. The first of Madame Bernard's enterprises since her leasing of the Town Hall will afford to a Stratford audience to-night and to-morrow afternoon and evening an opportunity of hearing and seeing the kind of clean and novel entertainments which will he run under this management, and it is well that an entirely new show should have been selected for the opening, Mr F. Tate Barras and his Marionettes will he a decided novelty, and the manipulating of Web Harry Lauder and N. (!. Stretton (the big hoot dancer) and the other celebrities can he guaranteed perfect', as Mr Barras is known the world over as the greatest manipulator of the Marionettes. Reggiardo (the human billiard table) has- added considerably to his juggling and - billiardball feats since his appearance ; in Taranaki some eight years ago, "alid lie still' has a taste for long swords.
