MONDAY’S LOAN MEETING.
[To The Editor Stratford Post.] Sir,—ln view of tho meeting called by the Mayor for Monday to consider loan proposals, I beg to suggest that ratepayers give earnest consideration to the advantages of kerbing and channelling. The appearance of our town would bo very favorably affected if kerbing and channelling were constructed as follows—Broadway from Warwick Road to Flint Road, Regan Street from Brecon Road to Eastern boundary, portions of Romeo, Celia, Lear, Page, Fenton. ■ Juliet, Seyton and Pembroke Streets. From such kerbing and channelling every resident in the borough would derive some direct bonelit and the heavy expense for footpath maintenance would be curtailed. Moreover, tho scour which takes place on these streets would be arrested. The revenue which the Council allocates for such % work is badly necuod for street maintenance and improvements, and would then be free for such. The cost of such suggested work would be between £OOOO and £7OOO. Y ours, etc., J. B. RICHARDS. Stratford, 23rd Mar, 191-1.
