AMUSEMENTS.
BERNARD’S PICTURES. A grand double programme will be presented to-night at Bernard’s, introducing the celebrated detective drama “The Silver Blaze,” a racing story of the Sherlock Holmes series, produced under the personal supervision of Sir Conan Hoyle, the famous writer. The Vitagraph Coy are well represented in the drama “Better Days.” The story runs as follows. Leaving their little son, Bobbie, in care, of a young maid, Mr and Mrs Gordon go off for the day. The maid leaves Bobbie, and while she has gone, a tramp comes .along, Bobbie tolls him that everyone is out, and takes him by the hand and gives him some food. Then Bobbie invites him into his playroom. He is found there by Mr and Mrs Gordon. Looking through the door they find the tramp with the small hoy’s hank in his arms. Thinking he is robbing the child, Gordon is about to shoot the man, when his wife stops him. She shows him 'that the hoy and tramp are playing together. The tramp then tells Gordon (and his wife the story of his own wife [and child, and of how little Bobbie had brought back to him the thought of his better days. The seenics and comics are headed by Keystone's biggest comedy “Raffles.”
