COFFEE PALACE BURNED. [Prat Press Association ] Ohristchurch, May 20. The Glasgow Coffee Palace and Private Hotel in Manchester street was destroyed by fire early this evening. It was a two-storied building, containing fourteen rooms on the first floor. iThe ground floor was used as a restaurant. The fire originated near the bathroom.- The furniture and fittings were insured for £250 in the Norwich Union office. The tenant estimates his loss at £IOO. OFFICER'S HOUSE DESTROYED. Auckland, May 21. The house occupied by Captain Miokle. officer in charge of the X.Z.P.A. at North Head", Auckland, was destroyed by fire. The main magazine was not far away, but there was no danger. ,
