“LIKE ZABERN.”
NAVAL LIBEL ACTION. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright [United Press Association. « (Received 11.15 a.m.) London, May 18. Captain Thomas Webster Kemp, formerly commander of the battleship “London,” sued Yexley, editor of the periodical “The Fleet,” for libel. Captain Kemp’s counsel stated that the paper appealed to the lower deck and solicited the crew for criticisms of their superior officers. The article on the “London” likened the conditions aboard her to the swashbuckling at Zabern. Captain Kemp, in evidence, denied that the vessel was seething with discontent, but ho admitted that ho was not reappointed when the “London” was recommissioned. The case was adjourned.
