THE CAMBRIDGE CAMP.
THE GOVERNOR’S APPRECIATION IPu Association. 1 Cambridge, May 6. The camp was practically deserted this morning, the troops being out rehearsing for Friday’s field operations. They are experiencing glori-ous-weather. General Godley telegraphed: “I have much pleasure in forwarding a message from His Excellency, which should be conveyed to the troops arid published. The Governor was very pleased with the appearance arid steadiness of all ranks at the parade for the presentation of colors on - more .especially in view of the inclement weather of tho previous day. His Excellency wished particularly to congratulate the officer commanding the Auckland district and his staff on the admirable arrangements which had been made, which ensured the success achieved.” Before Justices this morning a Territorial was .fined 30s with costs 14s, for bringing intoxicants into camp. He was,cautioned that a heavier penalty would be indicted next time.
