At a large meeting held in. the loan Hail, Te Kuiti, last night, Messrs Witty and Smith, M.P.’s, gave a strong criticism against the present Government, and at the conclusion a vote of ; thanks to the speakers and • confidence m Sir Joseph Ward as ' leader of the Liberal party was unanimously passed with enthusiasm. P During the evening it was announced '• that Mr Slholes, chairman of the 4 , Waitomo County Council had retired (in favour of Mr Jennings, ex-member. ,« ■ Both these gentlemen were called ■" from the audience on to the platform t amidst great enthusiasm, and addressed the assemblage, which concluded with cheers.
